Azerbaijani Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova proposed the creation of the Committee for Family, Women and Children in the Parliament of Azerbaijan.
Suleymanova, speaking with this proposal on Tuesday at a conference on children's rights, believes that the establishment of this committee will further strengthen efforts to protect the rights of women and children.
Creating of such a committee is important, Suleymanova told reporters. "It would be very helpful if the legislation contained provisions relating to children, women and family" Suleymanova added.
Ombudsman also proposed to establish a budget for children and women. "United States has set a task to create a special budget for women and children" Suleymanova said.
Suleymanova noted that the existence of such a budget is necessary for the implementation of relevant policies and government programs.
