Azerbaijani Press Council to discuss issue of entry of some publications in "black list"

The materials for more than twenty editors who violate the rules of professional conduct were presented to the commission of the Press Council of Azerbaijan on combat with racketeering-journalism, the chairman of the commission, the chief editor of "Iki Sahil" Vugar Rahimzadeh.

"The committee members involved in clarifying this issue at the moment. Elements of threats are seen in the materials of the media. Despite the reduction in such cases, yet we receive the appeal of individuals on this issue, and it talks about its relevance," Rahimzadeh said.

The representative of the Press Council said the meeting of the commission will be held in the near future. He also noted that the commission will consider entering of some revisions in the "black list". The representative of the Press Council also noted that the application will be considered to exclude certain editions of the "black list".

Chairman of the Commission also stated that the Press Council has a special appellate group, dealing with appeals to exclude the media from the "black list". The commission on combating with racketeering-journalism will also consider materials provided to the group.

It is done to identify specific reasons for which the data were entered in the "black list".
He also noted that there are such acts committed in the past, the motives of which can not be forgiven at present.
