Azerbaijan, Baku, April 10 / Trend K. Zarbaliyeva /

The Azerbaijani parliament will amend the law on "getting information."

The articles of the new bill relating to the information commissioner and his powers have been removed from the law, the parliament told Trend today.

It was proposed to include a new provision to the bill related to a complaint on the denial from giving the information or the non-fulfillment of the request for information. This change envisages that the person making an inquiry has the right to complain about the
refusal to fulfill a request for getting information or a failure to fulfill it correctly to the Azerbaijani court or the Ombudsman.

The Ombudsman will control the execution of the law in the manner prescribed in the Constitutional Law on "Azerbaijani Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman)".

After the latest changes and additions made to the Constitutional Law on "Azerbaijani Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman)", the powers of the information commissioner were delivered to the Ombudsman. In this regard, additions and changes are made to the law on "Getting the information".

The bill has been discussed at a meeting of the Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament on Legal Policy and State Building today.
