Today, contractor has completed the construction and turned over newly-built Baku Crystall Hall Concert and Sports Complex, where the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 will be held, Executive Director of Heydar Aliyev Foudnation, Anar Alekberov said at a press conference on Monday. Heydar Aliyev Foundation is an official partner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2012.
He said there were difficulties due to weather conditions during the arena construction, which resulted in a three-week delay in construction.
"But the grand arena of 25,000 seats is already commissioned. The arena, which will host the Eurovision Song Contest, will be further used for other grand concerts," Alekberov said.
He said special equipment will be first installed in the concert hall during the Eurovision Song Contest.
According to Alekberov, in connection with preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest special vehicles are brought, hotels are prepared, attention to issues of artificial increase in hotels prices redoubled, organization of travel routes, preparation of cultural centers and other meaures have been taken.
The 57th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Baku Crystal Hall which is under construction near the State Flag Square.
The Eurovision 2012 semi-final rounds will be held in Baku on May 22 and May 24 and the final on May 26.

Azerbaijan won the right to host the prestigious European song contest after the victory of Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal (Ell / Nikki) at Eurovision 2011 in Dusseldorf, Germany last May.
