Azerbaijan, Baku, April 24 / Trend M.Aliyev /
Azerbaijan is studying the peculiarities of environmental impact assessment.
The bill "environmental impact assessment" says that if during the initial design of facilities, which at the time of the activities have negative impact on the environment and human health, impact on the environment wasn't assessed, or if during the use of natural resource conditions of use were very different from those provided in the project, it is necessary to assess the environmental impact for the current period of operation of the facility, the Azerbaijani parliament told Trend on Tuesday.
According to the bill, during the assessment of environmental impact, assessment would be conducted on the effects of the atmosphere, the ionosphere, surface and groundwater, natural and artificial landscape, land resources and land cover, vegetation and fauna, ecological systems, human health, material resources and material heritage.
Representatives of the Committee of Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology of the Azerbaijani Parliament, UN Development Programme and the OSCE Office in Baku attended discussion of the draft law "On environmental impact assessment".
