Rehearsals of opening show and interval acts of Eurovision Song Contest 2012 begin

The preparations for Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Azerbaijan are at full swing.
At present, the stage design is nearing completion in Baku Crystal Hall, the venue of Eurovision Song Contest 2012, the contest's working group said.
The rehearsals of the contestants will start on May 13 at Baku Crystal Hall. The Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, which will differ by stage design, light effects and Green Room, will be in the center of attention of European audience with its opening show and interval acts. The scenarios of the opening show and interval acts (the latter will be broadcasted during the voting stage of the show) have been prepared. The rehearsals of singers and bands performing in these shows, where local and foreign experts are involved, have been involved started. The rehearsals of opening show and interval acts will be conducted in Buta Palace, Sport and Concert Complex named after Heydar Aliyev and Baku's other concert halls.
Traditionally, the opening and interval acts produced by the host country of the Eurovision Song Contest, and are made up of performances reflecting the national culture. From this point of view, the audience of the Baku show will be presented with opening and interval acts that combine Azerbaijan's rich music and culture and are a synthesis of national traditions and modern trends.
The opening show and interval acts of Eurovision Song Contest 2012 two semi-finals and the grand final will surely be remembered by stage design and performances. The mugham legend Alim Gasimov, "Natiq" rhythm band, Azerbaijan National Dance Ensemble, singer and composer Emin also local and foreign dance groups and singers will perform during the opening ceremony and interval acts of the Grand Final of ESC 2012 on 26th of May. Foreign dancers, DJs, the music band made of Eurovision stars, the participants of previous Eurovision Song Contests, as well as other popular local and foreign singers will present their shows during the semi finals interval acts of the contest.
It should be noted that the dress rehearsals for the semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest will be held on 21st and 23rd May while the so-called jury final on 25th May.
The 57th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Baku Crystal Hall near the State Flag Square. The semi-finals will be held in Baku on May 22 and May 24 and the final on May 26.
The logo for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest is 'Fire Flower', while the motto is Light your fire.
Azerbaijan won the right to host the prestigious European song contest after the victory of Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal (Ell / Nikki) at Eurovision 2011 in Dusseldorf, Germany last May.
