Ministry: New houses to be built after earthquake in Azerbaijani region

New houses will be built for those whose houses were destroyed after the earthquake in Zagatala.

Specialists of the ministry of emergency situations headed by Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov examine the area after the earthquake, which occurred 17 km southwest of Zagatala region, the ministry's website said today.

The Minister has already visited the villages Mukhah, Zeyem, Bazar and got acquainted with the situation.

As a result of preliminary inspection, it was revealed that about 20 houses were seriously damaged in the above-mentioned villages.

It is planned to build new houses for those whose houses were seriously damaged and to repair the houses requiring repair. The restoration work will be conducted.

The work is underway to determine the amount of the damage and remove the consequences of the disaster.

The ministry began to set up tents for residents, whose houses were severely damaged.

Infrastructure facilities in the region operate normally. According to the information, no one was seriously hurt.

The earthquake measuring 7 has occurred in Zagatala region at 09:40 local time today. There were destructions in the villages of the region.

Zagatala region is located in the north-west of Azerbaijan, 372 kilometers from Baku.
