Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili supports the introduction in the country of the 'must carry' principle and calls on the Parliament to adopt as soon as possible the initiative to broadcast via cable television all the TV companies during the pre-election period, the president's spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze said on Monday.
She said the initiative provides for the establishment of legal guarantees of availability of media to the public.
"The president has called for the majority of Parliament to consider and adopt the initiative as soon as possible," Manjgaladze said.
