Around 39 Azerbaijani citizens, who violated the state border, were detained by border guards in June.
As many as 53 people were detained as a result of 38 cases of violations of the Azerbaijani state borders in June, the Azerbaijani State Border Service told Trend today. There are seven Uzbek citizens, two Georgians, a Turk, three Iranians and a Moldovan are among those detained offenders.
About 10 people were detained as a result of five cases of violating the rules of border control. About 40 people were detained as a result of 24 cases of violating the rules of the borders of the Caspian Sea.
Azerbaijani border guards arrested 148 people who were being wanted. The detainees were handed over to law enforcement agencies.
As a result of the measures to combat drug trafficking in June, an attempt was prevented to transport 1 kilogramme 543 grams of drugs across the state border.
The coastal command of the Azerbaijani State Border Service examined three vessels belonging to Azerbaijan and 24 boats.
The border guards seized smuggled goods including guns, cigarettes and alcoholic beverages, metal detectors, mobile phones, different kinds of medicaments, food and agricultural products amounting to almost 4.293 million manat as a result of 42 cases in June.
