No extreme changes in the Caspian Sea water level are expected till 2020, Deputy Director of the Geography Institute of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences Ramiz Mammadov told Trend today.
He said that this is connected with the fact that no extreme climate change is expected till that time.
"The amount of water in the sea increases during the cold season," he said. "The evaporation from the surface reduces. So, the water level rises. But the process of evaporation occurs during the drought. There is less precipitation. The water level drops."
