Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct 11 /Trend M.Aliyev/
The discussions were held and the recommendations are given to the police officers with regard to the interrogation of children in such a way as not to cause harm to their psyche, program coordinator for Azerbaijan Sevinj Fataliyeva said during a round table at the Parliament of Azerbaijan, which was held in the framework of the Council of Europe to combat violence against children.
She noted that preventive work on education is held in Azerbaijan, a number of activities, meetings with the school psychologists are organized, and issues relating to the fight against child abuse are raised.
Azerbaijan has its own model of the family, and there should be an approach different from European one, member of the Center for Psychology Germany Galina Heyzelman said.
"We want to prevent violence against children, and it should be achieved not by laws, but by education," she said.
The heads of a number of NGOs, who participated in a meeting, also presented their projects.
