The passing year has been very successful for the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress, rich and in some senses a watershed in terms of review and reconsideration of the goals and tasks of the Diaspora in a rapidly changing world, Chief of Staff of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress Nemet Nagdaliyev said

"The main purpose of all activities and the leitmotif of the Congress during this period was continuation of forming a strong viable national community in Russia, strengthening its role and socio-political significance in Russian society, and preservation of national traditions and culture," Nagdaliyev said.
According to the chief of staff, currently, the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress is one of the well-known public organizations in Russia, which has been recognized as the leading organization representing interests of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in all spheres of Russian society. The organization established at the initiative of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, has consistently abided by the idea of unification of Azerbaijanis and protecting their interests, as well as strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries, Nagraliev added.
According to him, one of the key events for the Diaspora was holding the third congress of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress, which gave a new impetus to the organization, helping to speed up its work on many fronts.
"Activities of the Congress over the past year cover all areas of life of our fellow citizens. During this year, the Congress organized a series of events to mark the momentous events in the history of our country, both celebratory and tragic that must live in the memory of Azerbaijani people," Nagdaliyev said.
According to him, special attention is paid by the organization to issue of education of Azerbaijanis living in Russia. The organization places great emphasis on charitable projects as well.
Thus, at the initiative of Heydar Aliyev On the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation two years ago, started the nationwide project on congratulating orphans on New Year's eve. "We joined the project last year, took an active part in it, and plan to continue this tradition every year," Nagdaliyev said.
According to him, the development of Diaspora organizations in the regions is the most important task of the Congress.
"We work closely with our organizations, travel to regions, meet with the heads of these organizations, get acquainted with the state of our compatriots and their legal support. All issues have been agreed upon with the regional offices, what allows us to be more united and solve all problems," he added.
Among the main objectives of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress is promotion of civil peace and ethnic harmony in Russia, development and deepening of socio-economic and cultural cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan, Nagdaliyev said.
"The All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress in its work pays particular attention to youth development. There is even a project within which the chairman of the regional branch of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia becomes one of the deputy chairman of the regional branch of the Congress. This is our wish, our recommendation to our colleagues in the regions. We are absolutely convinced that such a move will help young people to show more responsibility for social work and join the working community of Diaspora in the regions," Chief of Staff of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress said.
"The success of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress is the success of our Diaspora. Organization established by national leader Heydar Aliyev, has no right to fail. Moreover, it has no right to stop or simulate active work. Working with Diaspora means constant activity, constant communication with our compatriots, with the authorities, with public organizations. Moreover, it should always be remembered that our work is a kind of a collective image of the activities of our regional offices across Russia," Nagdaliyev stated.
