Last week, the State Migration Service (SMS) identified 726 foreigners who violated the requirements of immigration legislation, the press-service of the SMS said on Tuesday.
As a result of inspections conducted between January 21-26 in Baku and other cities and regions of the country, cases of non-compliance with administrative legislation for a temporary stay and residence in Azerbaijan by 726 foreigners and persons without citizenship were identified.
92 people were fined and their residences were legalized, 603 foreign nationals were forced to decide whether or not to leave Azerbaijan within 48 hours and 26 foreigners were expelled from the country on administrative orders. The documents of temporary and permanent residence, lost by five foreigners, were replaced with new ones.
Within a week, the SMS received 1,429 applications for stay extensions in the country due to statelessness, the granting of permits for temporary and permanent residence, refugee status and restoration of citizenship and issuance of individual permits for work or renewal of employment in the country.
Each application was considered under the current legislation and appropriate decisions were made on them.
In addition, the officers conducted inspections on a number of business facilities, resulting in the detection of violations by three enterprises of rules for obtaining individual permits for work on the territory of Azerbaijan.
