Azerbaijan, Afghanistan discuss cooperation in emergency management

Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov has received a delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Jawed Ludin, the official website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reported.

During the meeting, Heydarov spoke on the work carried out in the field of emergency management in the countr, and activities of the entities within the ministry.

Furthermore, the parties stressed the importance of cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations and relevant agencies of Afghanistan in the emergency management field.

The sides exchanged views on organization of joint trainings with Afghanistan's state structures, responsible for management of emergency situations, including the prospects of studying at the MES Academy to improve knowledge and skills in prevention, combating and elimination of emergencies by government employees.

Ludin appreciated the assistance provided to his country by Azerbaijan and highlighted the existence of ample opportunities for cooperation between relevant agencies.

Wide-ranging discussions on issues of mutual interest were held at the meeting.
