Turkey is planning to start producing new types of armored tactical vehicles, the TULPAR, URAL and COBRA II, Anadolu Agency said today.
According to the report, Otokar will produce the vehicles. The company created the first domestically produced tank, the Altay.
According to the agency, COBRA II will somewhat differ from its predecessor. In particular, this armored tactical vehicle will have a wider salon and a greater degree of security. After the new models of armored tactical vehicles are presented, Turkey will begin mass production.
Creating armored tactical vehicles is a part of a state program aimed at providing the Turkish army with domestically produced weapons and equipment. Turkey managed to achieve a 54% level of self-sufficiency in this area.
