The number of foreign tourists visiting Turkey in May of this year grew by 17.8 percent compared to the same month last year, a statement of the Ministry of Tourism of Turkey released Tuesday on its official website says.
So, in May 2013 Turkey was visited by 3.8 million tourists. The largest number of tourists came to Turkey from Germany - 14.2 percent of the total.
During the specified month the largest number of tourists visited Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, Adana and Mersin.
The report states that in the period from January to May 2013 Turkey was visited by 10.4 million tourists, which is 18.4 percent more than in the same period of 2012.
