Within the framework of the Annual International Coastal Cleanup Day, globally supported by the Coca-Cola Company, on 21st of September 2013, Mardakan beach will be cleaned from waste.

Within the framework of Annual International Coastal Cleanup Day, on 21st of September Coca-Cola employees, representatives of Governmental and Non-governmental organizations, as well as everyone who would like to join the event will clean Mardakan beach from litter and debris. This initiative is supported by The Coca-Cola Company for the 28th year already and is the world's largest single-day volunteer effort to eradicate litter and debris from beaches, inland waterways and oceans. This year the event is supported by the National Olympic Committee, Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy, "Yarat!" Contemporary Art Space, "ASAN service", JSC "Təmiz Şəhər", Green Baku club, "Friends of Nature" club, online magazine for youth ALLmag and Educational center BLBS.

The market manager of the Coca-Cola Company, Gabil Ahmadov said: "We are urging everyone wishing to make their contribution in cleaning Caspian seaside to come and participate in this event and show what it's like to be the Coca-Cola ambassador. It is not only about cleaning the seaside, but also valuing the natural environment and nurturing a culture of responsible and careful attitude towards the Nature".

The event will be held on Mardakan beach on September 21, 2012 under the slogan "Pick It Up, Clean It Up. Sea Change". Participants will be provided with transport, branded T-shirts, as well as cold beverages, lunch, and clean up items by the Coca-Cola Company.

In the framework of the similar event, held in 2012, from the 35 hectares of coastal line, 16 cubic meters of waste products was removed. In general, last year 24 thousand of Coca-Cola company's friends from 27 countries joined the initiative, which resulted in cleaning off waste 2,1 thousand km of coastal line. This number is growing every year.
