The members of Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnastics national group team, who won silver medals on June 15 at the 30th European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Baku, shared their impressions.
Gymnast Diana Doman thanked everyone, including the fans of Azerbaijani team for their support.
"For me, this is the first European championship. It demanded great responsibility. It is very pleasing to perform under such support and audience. I thank all the coaches and our team. We are very happy and pleased with the results," she said.
Another Azerbaijani gymnast, Aynur Mustafayeva said this is the second European championship she participated in.
"Last year, we came second in the group performances in Vienna as well. But this year, everything is better, both the atmosphere and organization. Everyone support us, and when you step into the arena, you want to do everything with pleasure. There was a lot of emotion and support. Thank you all," she stressed.
For other Azerbaijani gymnast Sabina Abbasova this is the third European championship and the second one held in Baku.
"It is very nice when your people and your audience help you. I'd like to thank our fans, the Federation, and its President Mehriban Aliyeva, as well as our coaches for their support," she said.
Another Azerbaijani gymnast Gulsum Shafizade said that during the competitions Azerbaijani gymnasts competed hard.
"We tried our best. We were very pleased that the public supported us. We did everything for the country, showed everything we could. Thank you all," she said.
Azerbaijani team won the silver medals in group performances with three balls and two ribbons at the 30th European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani athletes' performance was accompanied by prominent Azerbaijani singer Muslim Magomayev's song 'Blue Eternity'.
Azerbaijani gymnasts scored 17.650 points.
Russian team won the gold medals, scoring 18.366 points, while athletes from Bulgaria came third with 17.583 points.
Azerbaijani gymnast Jala Piriyeva won the second place in individual competitions with the hoop. Earlier, Azerbaijani gymnasts came third in team competition among the junior athletes.
