Azerbaijani sportsmen to participate in European Special Olympics Summer Games (PHOTO)

The delegation of Special Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan comprising 42 people will go to Antwerp (Belgium) in order to participate in the European Special Olympics Summer Games from 9^th to 21^st of September, the President of the Committee Shahin Aliyev said Sept. 5.

Aliyev said that the Azerbaijani delegation will arrive in Lomel city in order to adapt to the climate of Belgium from 9^th to 12^th of September

.
He said that the event will directly involve the Turkish community in Lomele and employees of the Azerbaijani embassy in Belgium.

He added that the training of Azerbaijani athletes is at a high level, and expressed hope that the athletes will return with successful results.

It should be noted that the Special Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan (SOCA) implements programs on creation of opportunities for children with disabilities and on assistance in identifying of their athletic potential.

The Games will start Sept.14. Some 2,000 athletes from various European countries will participate at the Games where 10 kinds of sports will be introduced.
