Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept.19
Baku will host quarter finals of European Football Championship 2020 and the three group matches. UEFA announced the decision Sept.19 during a ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland.
In addition to Baku the quarter finals will be also held in Munich, St. Petersburg and Rome. Final and semi-final matches of European Football Championship 2020 will be held in London at the Wembley stadium.
The group games and 1/16 finals of European Football Championship 2020 will be held in Budapest (Hungary), Bilbao (Spain), Glasgow (Scotland), Brussels (Belgium), Dublin (Ireland), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Bucharest (Romania), Copenhagen (Denmark), according to the decision of the UEFA executive committee.
In December 2012 the UEFA Executive Committee decided that instead of the traditional holding of the European Championship by one or two countries in 2020, the tournament will take place in several European countries at once. Such changes are associated with the celebrations of the 60th anniversary since the first European Football Championship.
