Azerbaijan’s president performs Umrah pilgrimage in Mecca (UPDATE)

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva and their family members performed the Umrah pilgrimage on Apr. 6 in Mecca, the main holy city of the Islamic world.
The president, his spouse and family members arrived in special clothes in the mosque al-Masjid al-Haram, where they were warmly welcomed.
The head of state and the people accompanying him toured around the Kaaba, and performed Salah (prayer) in the mosque.
Afterwards, the pilgrimage to the Al-Safa and Al-Marwah hills started. Azerbaijani president and his family members walked seven times between the two hills.
President Ilham Aliyev, his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva and family members went to the Kaaba, and performed Salah.
After the completion of the Umrah the head of state viewed al-Masjid al-Haram and was informed in details about the mosque.
