Azerbaijani gymnast reaches finals at FIG World Cup in Baku (UPDATE)

Azerbaijani gymnast Marina Nekrasova has advanced to the balance beam finals at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus World Cup in Baku.

She ranked fifth by scoring 13.000 in the qualifications.

Another Azerbaijani gymnast Yulia Inshina, who scored 12.200, will be the first reserve gymnast in the finals.

Australian gymnasts Emma Nedov and Emily Little, Romanian gymnast Catalina Ponor, China’s Cenyu Wang, Greece’s Vasiliki Millousi, Turkey’s Goksu Uctas Sanli and Israel’s Ofir Kremer also advanced to the FIG World Cup finals.

The second day of the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus World Cup kicked off at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku March 17.

The qualifications in men’s vault, pommel horse and horizontal bar exercises are taking place on the second day of the competition. Women gymnasts will be qualifying for the finals by performing on balance beam and in floor exercises.

Baku hosts the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus World Cup on March 16-19. Gymnasts from 23 countries are taking part in the FIG World Cup.

The FIG World Cup finals will be held on March 18-19.
