Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 15
By Ilhama Isabalayeva – Trend:
Citizens of the US and other countries living in Azerbaijan use the services of the Azerbaijani healthcare system, Elsevar Agayev, the country’s deputy minister of healthcare, told reporters in Baku Nov. 15.
Agayev said that he saw reports that the US State Department does not recommend its citizens to undergo operations in Azerbaijan, and calls on to bring medicines with them, and added that these recommendations are their personal opinion and their choice.
“Today, Azerbaijani doctors conduct the most difficult operations in the world. Meanwhile, private healthcare is developing in the country, and the number of such medical facilities is increasing,” he noted.
“There are 870 private medical companies and more than 2,300 pharmaceutical institutions in Azerbaijan today,” added the deputy minister.
