International Boxing Forum 2019 can be held in Baku, General Secretary of Russian Boxing Federation Umar Kremlyov told RIA Novosti in a phone interview on Feb. 8.
“There are proposals from China and Azerbaijan. Everyone loved the forum, so it will be held annually. I believe that we will solemnly pass the banner of the forum to the country where the event will be held. For now it seems Baku is to hold it in early February. But China has good conditions in their proposal as well,” Kremlyov said.
“But for now we consider Baku option, because it seems suitable for most. I consulted with all international presidents [of boxing federations] and with an honorary representative of the forum Gennady Golovkin,” he added.
The first International Boxing Forum was held in Sochi on Feb. 1—4, 2018.
