"Football is one of the most popular types of sport and plays an immense role in the healthy growth of the young generation. As the government encourages the development of football in Azerbaijan, it is important to also get the support of well-known companies like P&G to create awareness among citizens on football. Therefore, we highly appreciate Procter & Gamble that has at least one product in almost every house in Azerbaijan, for supporting the Azerbaijani football,“ said Elkhan Mammadov, Azerbaijan Football Federations Association (AFFA) General Secretary at the signing ceremony of Procter & Gamble and AFFA partnership agreement which took place on October 1st at Baku Olympic Stadium with the participation of P&G Caucasus General Director Deger Kurtaslanoglu, the trainer of the National Football Team of Azerbaijan Gurban Gurbanov, team members and media representatives.

It was noted at the event that the contract would cover the UEFA National League and European Championship qualifying games. AFFA General Secretary said that our national team playing in Group D of the UEFA Nations League is vigorously preparing for upcoming games. The Azerbaijani national team will meet with Malta on October 14, and with Faroe Islands teams on November 17. "Every support given to us makes us stronger and we are grateful to everyone who is with us," said Elkhan Mammadov.

General Director of Procter & Gamble Caucasus, Deger Kurtaslanoglu said that the partnership between P&G and AFFA is dedicated to P&G’s 20th anniversary of presence in Azerbaijan.

Within the partnership, we will produce and launch TV commercials for our Gillette and Head & Shoulders brands with the participation of our football players. In addition to supporting the national team, these commercials will promote football even more widely,” said P&G Caucasian General Director.

Regarding another reason for the partnership with AFFA, Deger Kurtaslanoglu said: "Many of our products help to solve problems that arise in everyday life of people and create a sense of self-confidence in them.
