The results of the analyses as part of the monitoring conducted earlier by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources in connection with emission into atmosphere of thick black smoke by purification plants of the Baku Oil Refinery have become known, the ministry’s press service said in a statement Nov. 8.
The documents related to this will be sent to the court in order to bring the Baku Oil Refinery to responsibility as a legal entity.
A protocol has been drawn up against the head of the production site Farhad Figarov, who is responsible for harmful emissions into the atmosphere as a result of violation of the technological process in the furnace of the catalytic reforming unit #31 of the third production site of the refinery, and he was sentenced to a fine of 4,000 manats as a senior official.
On Nov. 7, the employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan conducted a monitoring based on the received information regarding the harmful emissions into the atmosphere from the Baku Oil Refinery, and took air samples.
During the monitoring, the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere resulting from the technical problems in the furnace of the catalytic reforming unit #31 of the third production site of the refinery were recorded.
