The XVI Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020 have ended. National Paralympic Team of Azerbaijan took the 10th place among 163 countries of the world. Azerbaijani athletes won 19 medals, including 14 golds, 1 silver and 4 bronzes. This is a record result in the history of the Azerbaijani Paralympic team, Trend reports citing the National Paralympic Committee.

The closing ceremony of the XVI Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020 was also held today. Lamia Valiyeva became the standard bearer of our team. Lamia Valieva is the owner of both gold (T13 400 m - the Paralympic record) and silver (T13 100 m) of these games.

Shahana Hajiyeva, Raman Saleh, Vugar Shirinli, Sevda Valieva, Khanym Huseynova, Huseyn Rahimli, Hamid Heydari, Elvin Astanov, Dursadaf Kerimova, Vali Israfilov, Lamia Valiyeva, Orkhan Aslanov became the winners of the gold medal, Lamia Valiyeva , Namig Abasli, Ilham Zakiev, Said Najafzade won bronze medals.
