Children must never suffer or be attacked during military conflicts, Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva said at the presentation of the Karabakh Memorial website, Trend reports on Nov. 25.
The ombudsman stressed that currently children face certain danger.
"Armenia grossly violated many norms of international law, but no measures were taken against it," Aliyeva added.
"The number of Azerbaijani children who died as a result of the conflict in Karabakh region, as well as the facts related to their murder, were not indicated in the UNICEF reports," the ombudsman said. "In this regard, a note of protest was sent to UNICEF and a proposal was made to organize a mission to deal with this issue."
