The list and tariffs of medical services, included in the package, reach 2,550 medical services in Azerbaijan, Director of the Marketing and PR Department of the Azerbaijani State Agency for Mandatory Health Insurance Aynura Ahmadova said in an interview with the Azerbaijan State Tax Service, Trend reports.
Ahmadova said that the agency has developed a project to change the package of services, increase the number and range of medical services, and transfer it to the corresponding agency.
“According to the amendment, more than 2,800 medical services will be rendered upon mandatory health insurance,” the director of the department added. “The goal is to render more medical services to the population and increase their availability.”
Ahmadova said that the list of surgeries to be added to the package of services includes ophthalmic surgeries, trauma surgeries, medical services added to cardiovascular surgery.
“It is planned to increase the amount of insurance for medical services, namely, endoprosthesis procedure, cochlear implantation, which are covered by the health insurance,” the director of the department said.
“Moreover, mandatory health insurance will be applied to organ transplantation this year,” Ahmadova said.
