BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. A concert by the world-renowned Vienna Chamber Orchestra took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center, Trend reports.
The evening, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, became a true celebration for classical music enthusiasts.
One of the finest chamber orchestras in the global cultural space, it was established back in 1946. The orchestra has a rich history of collaboration with outstanding conductors, soloists, and vocalists. Since the 1970s and 1980s, the tradition of performing concerts from the 18th century with a soloist as the conductor has been established, adding a unique flair to the rendition of classical compositions and showcasing immense professionalism.
The ensemble primarily presents its concerts at its permanent creative venue, the Vienna Musikverein concert hall, and actively tours as a frequent guest at international festivals, featuring the most extraordinary, rare, and exclusive works from renowned composers of different eras as well as contemporary authors. The visit to Baku was organized by Premier LTD.
On this evening, the Auditorium of the Heydar Aliyev Center resonated with the works of great Austrian composers Franz Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who have had a significant influence on the world's music history and culture.
The concert featured a young Azerbaijani flutist, a graduate of the Uzeyir Hajibayli Baku Music Academy and laureate of international competitions, Nijat Mamedov.
"I have been playing the flute since I was six years old, and for 24 years, during my studies and performances at various competitions, festivals, and stages, I have always tried to promote national art. But this evening holds special significance for me. It is a great honor and pride for me to perform on the stage of the Heydar Aliyev Center with the renowned Vienna Chamber Orchestra. This performance will be one of the brightest moments in my artistic life," said Nijat Mamedov in an interview with Trend before the concert.
The flute is one of the oldest wind instruments, known for its elegance, and it is used in various genres, from classical and folk to popular music. The guests of the concert program had the opportunity to appreciate the beauty, precision, and purity of the flute's sound. Nijat Mamedov, with his virtuosic performance, demonstrated the unique features and beauty of the flute's sound alongside the orchestra.
The concert program concluded with a special surprise prepared by the Vienna Chamber Orchestra - a performance of "Arazbari", a composition by the distinguished Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibayli.
