BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. This year, for the first time in Azerbaijan, with the support of the UN Development Program, a methodology for linking public spending to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has been developed, Azerbaijan's Deputy Economy Minister Sahib Mammadov said, Trend reports.

He spoke at the third "SDG Dialogue" on the theme "Results of the Global Summit on SDG 2023 and the Role of Supreme Audit Institutions in the Implementation of the SDGs".

"Initial linking of budget expenditure items to SDG targets shows that a total of 82 percent of the review budget in 2022 is linked to SDG targets. This figure is equal to about 23 percent of 2022 GDP," he added.

Baku hosts the third Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Dialogue on the theme "Outcomes of the Global SDG Summit 2023 and the Role of Supreme Audit Institutions in the Implementation of the SDGs".

The dialogue is co-chaired by the Chairman of the National Coordination Council for Sustainable Development, the Supreme Audit Institution of Azerbaijan, and the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan.
