BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 28. A total of 16 hydrometeorological stations have been installed in Azerbaijan's Karabakh and Zangezur, Head of the National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Nazim Mahmudov said, Trend reports.

He spoke at a round table on global climate change.

He noted that 64 automatic hydrometeorological stations have been established in Azerbaijan since 2019.

At the hydrometeorological observation stations located in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, observations were suspended during the Armenian occupation, and all infrastructure, including observation tools, was put out of operation.

It is planned to increase the number of meteorological stations in Azerbaijan to 77 by 2026.

The number of automatic meteorological stations has increased from 34 to 51 during 2020–2022. It is also planned to install three aerological stations in 2023–2026,
