BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 21. The extraordinary XXVI general meeting of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society was held today, Trend reports.
President of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (AzQAC), MP Novruz Aslanov opened the meeting with an introductory speech and welcomed the participants.
The national anthem was played and a minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of the martyrs. The agenda of the meeting was presented and discussion of the matters began.
Chairman of the Mandate Committee Shaban Shaev presented the report of the committee and informed about the sufficient number of representatives of the General Assembly.
Executive Secretary of AzQAC Jeyhun Mirzaev reported on the activities and achievements of the organization during 2018-2023. His speech highlighted the restoration of AzQAC's activities in the Karabakh Economic Zone and the activities of the Great Return Project and emphasized important factors that ultimately determine the plans, long-term goals, and directions of the organization and support its mission and vision.
Rena Ibrahimova, the coordinator of the Baku regional center, Firuza Aliyeva, deputy chairperson of the Aghdam district branch, and Ramig Sadigov, chairperson of the Fuzuli district branch, made speeches at the event and expressed their wishes for the success of the meeting.
AzQAC Vice President Gafar Askerzadeh informed about the approval of decisions of the Governing Council in his speech.
Along with current issues, the representatives of the General Assembly unanimously adopted a statement supporting the candidacy of the honorary member of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society Ilham Aliyev in the extraordinary presidential election to be held on February 7, 2024.
At the end, the anthem of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society was played, and the XXVI extraordinary general meeting finished its session.
