BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. The amount of weapons and ordnances spotted in Azerbaijan's liberated territories last week has been revealed, Trend reports referring to the country's Interior Ministry.
According to the ministry, police officers have found and seized 38 automatic weapons, 2 machine guns, 9 pistols, 14 rifles, 69 grenades, 1 grenade launcher, 61 fuses, 1 shell, 10 mines, 11 kilograms of gunpowder, 9 night vision devices, 31 bayonets, 26 communication devices, 197 magazines for cartridges, 19,986 cartridges, and other ordnances in Khankendi city in the reporting period.
Meanwhile, four automatic weapons were found and seized in the Khojavand district, two automatic weapons, one grenade launcher, three machine guns, four shell fuses, and 1,050 various caliber rounds - in the Fuzuli district, along with six machine guns, one pistol, two rifles, seven grenades, five igniters, and 160 various caliber rounds - in the Khojaly district.
Following the liberation of its lands, Azerbaijan began operations in November 2020 to clean its lands of mines, booby traps, and other weaponry left behind by illegal Armenian forces.
