BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. In the villages of Yusifjanli and Garagaji in Aghdam district, Jojug Marjanli and Garajalilar in Jabrayil district, Suarasi in Lachin district, and Gorgan and Garakollu in Fuzuli district, precise information regarding cemetries that had been mined was uncovered throughout the course of the research, the Chairperson of the Public Association "Azerbaijan Campaign Against Mines" Hafiz Safikhanov said, Trend reports.

He made the remark at a press conference dedicated to the results of the project "Strengthening International Support to Azerbaijan in Demining."

He emphasized that, they stumbled upon a massive minefield in the cemetery of Aghdaban village, right in the heart of the Kalbajar district.

To note, 31 anti-tank mines, 121 anti-personnel mines, and 6,954 unexploded ordnance were detected and neutralized in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation from August 12 through August 18. A total of 1,048.7 ha of territory was cleared from mines.
