BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. Particular attention was given to ensuring high levels of publicity and transparency in the upcoming parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, with the country’s vast experience in establishing web camera observation, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Rovzat Gasimov said at today's CEC session, Trend reports.
He emphasized that Azerbaijan’s successful 16-year track record with web camera observation is being utilized in all elections, including the upcoming parliamentary election.
“To this end, webcams have been installed at 1,000 polling stations across the country. These webcams will provide live coverage of the voting process on a publicly accessible platform, allowing interested parties to continuously observe the processes from start to finish throughout the day, without needing to visit the polling stations,” the deputy chair said.
On June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and scheduling a snap election for September 1.
