ZANGILAN, Azerbaijan, August 22. The design works of the Horadiz-Agband railroad line are 83 percent complete, while the physical progress of the construction and installation works of the line is 57 percent, Deputy Director of the Construction Project Management Department of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Kanan Rzayev told reporters, Trend reports.
He made the announcement during a media tour of the construction of the Horadiz-Agband railway line organized in the territory.
He noted that mine clearance works have been completed on sections with a total width of 60 meters along the reinforcement strip and special protection zone of the railway line with a length of 110.4 km along the axis, and mine clearance works on sections requiring further expansion are ongoing.
“At the same time, on the 72–82 km section of the railway line, demining was performed repeatedly due to the change of the track axis.
Rail and sleeper frames have been installed on the 72 km section of the Horadiz-Agband railway line along the axis and the 83.4 km section with side tracks, and the installation of long rails has been fully completed on the 65.6 km section. Currently, excavation works and construction of engineering structures continue on the 72–89 km section of the line. The project will be completed in 2025.
The construction and installation works are carried out in three stages," he added.
