The ANAMA delegation held meetings with the Vice President of the Cambodian Mine Action and Assistance Agency (CMAA) Prum Sophakmokol and Executive Director Ly Panharith, as well as the Director General of the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC) Heng Ratana.

The meetings discussed the exchange of experience in combating the mine threat, prospects for further cooperation, methodologies used in demining, and opportunities for training.

Meanwhile, a meeting was held with the Deputy State Secretary of the ASEAN Mine Action Department of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ke Sovann. During the meeting, the sides informed about the scale of mine threat faced by Azerbaijan and Cambodia, which are among the countries most contaminated with mines and other explosive remnants of war, and exchanged views on the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in this field in the future.

Azerbaijan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam and Cambodia, Shovgi Mehdizade, also took part in the meetings.

Within the framework of the visit, the ANAMA delegation visited the CMAC training center to get acquainted with training opportunities, methods, and means of training, as well as to study Cambodia's experience in this field.

The delegation also visited one of the most mine-contaminated regions of Cambodia, Siem Reap province, where they familiarized themselves with the demining operations conducted by CMAC, manual demining, the activities of mine detection dogs and rats, as well as the tools and equipment used.

The exchange of experience in this field with countries in Southeast Asia that have faced mine and other threats from explosive remnants of war and have many years of experience in dealing with this threat will contribute positively to ANAMA's future activities.
