BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 12. Baku City Circuit Operating Company has organized a traditional media tour for representatives of international media during the Formula-1 Qatar Airways Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2024 race week, the source at the Baku City Circuit Operating Company told Trend.
The annual tour, which was met with great interest, gave reporters a chance to dive into the deep end of Azerbaijan's rich history and stunning nature, all while riding the wave of excitement from the competition.
The media tour kicked off at Gobustan National Historical and Artistic Reserve, a gem in the crown of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Foreign reporters were shown the ropes at the museum nestled within the Reserve, where they were given the lowdown on the rich history of Azerbaijan and the ancient rock paintings that tell tales of yore.
The tour rolled on to the “Mud Volcanoes” tourist complex, where foreign media representatives got their feet wet learning about the ins and outs of mud volcanoes and their unique models. The reporters who swung by the exhibition hall and workshop were treated to a wealth of information on around 80 rare minerals gathered from various corners of Azerbaijan.
The media tour wrapped up in Icherisheher. The tour participants hit the ground running, soaking up the rich tapestry of the ancient streets and diving headfirst into the history of the old city.
To note, roughly 300 journalists from both local and international outlets will be covering this year's Formula 1 Qatar Airways Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
