The Azerbaijani national judo team gained two medals in the big international tournament Cup of Bosporus held in Istanbul. Nijad Shikhalizada, one of the prospective young athletes, ranked the top of the podium in his weight category (60kg), Trend reports. Elmaddin Ahmadov (73 kg) demonstrated the same result, winning the gold in the tournament.
Agayar Akhundzada, the coach of the national team, led the young athletes in the tour of Turkey to test their potential and prospects of the team. The main task of the trainer stuff is reestablishment of strong team for the forthcoming Olympic Games-2008.
Judo wrestlers from 25 countries participated in the Istanbul tournament, where Brazilian national team, one of the leaders of world judo, made success in the team score.
