The Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry explores on the Talish Mountains, where platinoid-beds were discovered. The Ministry sent samples were sent to Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and South Africa to study, Trendreports referring to the National Geology Service. Studying of samples is limited in Azerbaijan. “The research gave ground to suppose that there are platinum-beds on the mountains. The results of the laboratories of the aforesaid countries confirmed our supposition, but they are only signs of platinoid,” the Ministry noted.
It is necessary to hold wide research to determine the amount of the metal, geologists say.
5,000 cu m was researched in 1962-64, 1974-84, 1993-2005. Geologists got new data as a result of the research.
Besides platinoid, beds of gold and diamond were found in this territory.
