Azeri chess player leads world championship

Shariyar Mamadyarov, an Azerbaijani chess player, remains to a leader after the fifth round of the World Chess Championship among juniors and girls aged under 20, which was
held in Turkey. Making a draw with a Polish grand master, Radoslav Voytashek, she gained 4.5 points and leaves behind the nearest persecutors.

Meanwhile, Vugar Hashimov and Nijdat Mammadov made a draw in the matches of the fifth round, each scoring 3.5 points and occupy the 9th and 12th places.

Turkan Mammadyarova, an Azerbaijani male chess player, strives ahead in high speed. Upon a failure in the fist tournament, she gained the fourth victory and now with 4.0 points she shares 2-5 places, with a point yielding to a Chinese sportswoman, Gu Ksyaobing.
