Signing of the Decree on Pardoning is expected shortly, a member of the Pardoning commission, a Milli Mejlis deputy Azay Guliyev told Trend.
According to him, the commission, having scrutinized about 500 applications, prepared and submitted a list of inmates for pardoning to the President, which includes about 100 persons. Guliyev noted the most of the applicants serve their sentences for heavy crimes. В"Therefore, the commission has not viewed their applications positively, he said.
There is a low number of people in the list, which are called political prisoners by the Council of Europe. It is due to the fact that the most people of this category had been pardoned earlier.
