A new map of radio and television frequencies of Azerbaijan, designed under the IREX-financed project, enables the Council of Radio and Television Broadcasting to announce a tender on use of vacant frequencies. Baku Office of IREX, a US organization, told Trend the map was designed by IREX specialists and submitted in November 2005 to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, is a 3-dimension scheme of frequencies, providing for definition of the point and power of transmitter to be installed.
The map does not include the occupied territory of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan autonomous Republic.
In his turn the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies presented the map to the Council of Radio and Television Broadcasting, which is authorized to announce a tender for new media units.
Through a new map Azerbaijan also joins the international frequency network, which also includes the neighboring countries. It allows defining exactly the objective of functioning of any transmitter installed in border region.
