On July 13, it was held the meeting of collegium in the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan under the leadership of the minister of health Ogtay Shiraliyev. The meeting covered the ecological situation in the country, fight of sanitary-epidemic service in this sphere, as well as implementation of relevant measures.
It was pointed out at the meeting that during several constructions in districts of Nasimi, Sabunchu, Azizbeyov, Binagadi and Garadag .in Baku city, the demands for the protection of environment were not followed. It was stated that several private constructions are expanding in Baku and Absheron peninsula. Land plots are allocated for these constructions, where there are not any communications, and in the future it will impose problems for the population.
After the discussions, it was decided to create a Coordination Council of specialists for revealing the impact on the health of population and the environmental impacts. Besides, a decision was made on creation of a monitoring department in Republic center of hygiene and epidemiology to reveal the impacts on the heath of population and environmental impacts, as well as take measures directed toward mitigation if these impacts.
It was noted at the meeting that there are shortages in state sanitary control. Republic center of hygiene and epidemiology was given relevant tasks to inspect the activity of the regional departments of hygiene and epidemiology.
