On July 24, Azerbaijani ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova received the French ambassador to Azerbaijan Bernar Dyu Shafo, Trend reports with reference to the press-service of Ombudsman office.
During the meeting, Suleymanova noted that after regaining its independence, Azerbaijan has chosen the way of integration into Europe and as a logical continuation of this process, Azerbaijan was admitted into the Council of Europe. Besides, she stressed that Azerbaijan has joined more than 200 international conventions, as well as more than 30 documents of the Council of Europe.
Suleymanova pointed out that in her activity she attaches a great importance to the cooperation with the state bodies, non-governmental organizations and the citizens to realize human rights and freedoms.
In his turn, the French ambassador noted that the ambassador touched on very interesting and important questions, and voiced his desire for mutual cooperation.
