Works on facts on the Mountain Jews` Massacre committed by Armenian in Azerbaijan in 1918-1919, Professor Rovshan Mustafayev, Director of the Human Rights Institute of Azerbaijan`s National Academy of Sciences told Trend today.
It should be mentioned that in 1918-1919, in the valley of Shmi of Guba region of Azerbaijan, thousands of peaceful people were killed. Mr. Mustafayev pointed out a special commission was established to investigate and study this fact in the Human Rights InstituteР°. Also works on the extending of the team are carried out. Therefore, Jews living in other countries will be attracted to the commissions activity.
In the connection that Hebrew is very difficult language; the commission needs Jewish specialists. Jews living in Germany, Israel, and other countries also appealed us with the fact on the 1918-1919 Mountain Jews` Massacre committed by Armenians in Azerbaijan. They have a lot of facts on this issue, pointed out Mr. Mustafayev.
He also pointed out that the state`s support and assistance are needed to carry out this work, since the institute can not cope with such a large-scale issue itself. We shall do all our best. But we cannot afford going to other countries to find necessary facts in their archives. That is why, we need the government`s help and assistance, pointed out Mr. Mustafayev.
