LINKS held Seminar for Parliamentary Journalists in Baku

On September 20, British LINKS, in co-operation with Milli Majlis [Azerbaijani Parliament], held a seminar for parliamentary journalists in Baku. The seminar was opened by the Executive Director of LINKS Denis Sammut, Trend reports.

He noted that journalists play an important role in the project. Later Akif Nasirov, Head of the Press Service of Milli Majlis, gave a speech. He stressed that all projects held by LINKS in Azerbaijan are completed successfully. We believe that this project will also be successful. The seminar aims to share experiences with the Azerbaijani parliamentary journalists, Nasirov said.

In addition, Kathryn Smite, Program Co-ordinator of LINKS gave a speech. She pointed out that it is impossible to achieve something positive without the participation of journalist in this process. Smite clarified the impact of parliamentary journalism on the democracy in Azerbaijan. In addition, she spoke about the parliamentary journalism in Great Britain.

Nicolas Johns, the Parliament Correspondent of London Times and BBC also gave a speech at the seminar.
