Two million and two hundred and fifty thousand AZN have been assigned from the State Budget to the State Committee for Affairs with Azerbaijanis Living Abroad to take actions in 2007, Nazim Ibrahimov, Chairman of the State Committee told during the press-conference today, Trend reports.

He pointed out that the next year envisages holding of a number of large arrangements. These are the first Forum of Azerbaijani and Turkish Diaspora Organizations to be held in Baku, 1 st Forum of Scientists-Azerbaijanis from All Over the World, the first Forum of Journalists of Azerbaijani Origin from All Over the World, 2nd Congress of European Azerbaijanis to be held in one of European countries, the Constituent Conference of the Assembly of American-Azerbaijani Associations in US. In 2006, Baku is expected to host 11th Session of Friendship, Brotherhood, and Cooperation of Turkic States and Communities. According to Mr. Ibrahimov, an organizational committee aimed at the preparation for the first Forum of Azerbaijani and Turkish Diaspora organizations has already been formed within the State Committee. In addition, funds aimed at the preparation for the first Forum of Journalists of Azerbaijani Origin to be held in Baku as well have been allotted too.

Speaking about the today`s activity of the Azerbaijani Diaspora, the Chairman of the Committee pointed out that it is too early to require anything for our country from them, as the history of the organization of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in the World is not long. In order to require anything from the Diaspora, at first we should render assistance to it. The existing policy of the Azerbaijani state is to render assistance to our Diaspora, revive and reinforce it. There are double standards in the World now.
