We Will Participate in Congress of Turkish Diaspora and Discuss Close Relations Azeri State Committee Head

The Azerbaijani delegation will participate in the 27th Congress of the Assembly of Association of American Turks (AAAT) scheduled to take place this month, the Chairman of the State Committee for Works with Azerbaijani Residing Abroad, Nazim Ibrahimov, informed Trend.

On 8 November, Ibrahimov will leave for the USA to participate in the AAAT Congress. He will stay in Washington, Miami and thereafter will depart to Amsterdam. During his visit to the USA, he will meet with the head and members of the AAAT and representatives of Turkish diasporas.

We always participate in large-scale measures of Turks residing in the world. According to the task of the Azerbaijani President, we establish close relations with many Turkic diasporas in the world. During the visit to the USA, we will participate in the congress of the Turkish diaspora and meet with Turks residing in America. We will discuss the future activities of the Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas, as well as the planned joint forum of the Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas due in March 2007 in Baku, Ibrahimov stated.

He noted that because this Forum has been initiated by the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the date of the Forum will be confirmed by the President.

Ibrahimov said that during the USA visit, he plans to hold meetings with the representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora. According to him, the representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Canada wish to meet with the Azerbaijani delegation and therefore they will come to the USA.

On 18 November, Ibrahimov will participate in the constituent conference of the Benelux Azerbaijanis due in Amsterdam. He will return to Azerbaijan on 22 November.
